Ono’s Malasadas

OUR STORY

While on their annual vacation to the Hawaiian Islands, Sophia Bussio and her family discovered Malasadas, a Portuguese fried sweet dough, a food staple in Hawaii. Sophia and her family saw the opportunity to bring the malasada magic to Provo. Excited to embrace the opportunity, the Bussios dove headfirst into the world of fried dough, later naming their new company “Ono’s Malasadas.”

OUR NAME

The name, a fusion of Hawaiian and Portuguese, encapsulates what a malasada truly is. “Ono” in Hawaiian means “delicious,” while in Portuguese, “Malasadas” translates to “bad dough” — a contradiction that perfectly describes the treat.

Grass Seed for Provo Residents 🌱🚰 
The Provo Turf Trade (a Provo City program) is selling seed RIGHT NOW to Provo residents. Move quick because the seed usually sells out fast. According to the site, the grass seed they are selling will need at least 30% less water than the usual bluegrass lawn.
Grass seed is sold in 5 pound bags for $6.50 + tax. One bag covers approximately 1,000 square feet.

Friday To Do List

Time to start thinking about the upcoming sports seasons.

College football games start this weekend, kind of, and next week things will really ramp up. Also, the NFL starts September 5th. And then there are the kids’ sports.

So here with all this in mind, here are some things you might need on your to do list:

✅ Figure out the best/cheapest way to stream college football games this season. Best NFL streaming ideas 📺️🏈 

✅ Get shirts for gamedays (royal army, official BYU shirt for 2024 (around $13), if you are into them) 👕 Don’t forget your “I’m watching football all weekend sweats”.

✅ Replace water bottles for kids games, for the thousandth time 🚰 

✅ Buy a shade thing (Walmart, Amazon). Also, chairs for games. (Or maybe an outdoor blanket.) ⛱️ 🟦 

✅ Get one of those awesome cart/wagon things for hauling stuff to/from the car
