What's Happening in Provo | October 21st, 2024

What’s Up Provo! Happy Back to the Future Day! 🛹

Cool fact about October 21st, 2015, (the date Marty McFly travels to in Part II), it’s the day the screenwriter chose for the Chicago Cubs to win the World Series. For the Cubs to win “was the most absurd thing we could think of” in 1985. But he ended up being only a year off—the Cubs finally won the series in 2016!

A few highlights of today’s newsletter:

Citrus Pear’s November Menu 🍐

If you haven’t heard of Citrus Pear, it’s a great company, and it’s local!

Citrus Pear partners with local grocery stores throughout the intermountain west, providing freezer meal prep classes along with freezer meal delivery services. Each meal can be tailored to your family's specific needs and preferences making sure everyone loves what's for dinner!

They dropped their October menu a while ago, and they also released their November menu as well.

Here’s what we’re most excited to try:
Beef Stroganoff, 🥥 Coconut Chicken Curry, Tuscan Chicken Pasta, 🍠 Sausage and Sweet Potato Sheet Pan Dinner, Thai Coconut Soup, 🌮 Chipotle Chicken Tacos, Chicken Pot Pie Soup, 🍅 Fire Roasted Tomato and Chipotle Chili, Zuppa Toscana.
Check out the entire November Menu here.

Nothing in this section is sponsored. We’ll always let you know if something is sponsored.

There’s going to be a catered feast in the Great Hall (the comments rave about the 🍻 butter beer). There’s also wizarding shops to peruse, an owl post, and classes for testing and honing your magical skills! Watch out for magical creatures, and try to win the house cup! (We’re rooting for Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff this time.)

🚂🔪 Free Showing: Strangers on a Train (PG, 1951)
An Alfred Hitchcock film and a personal favorite. Two men meet on a train, one suggests that they “swap murders”. IMBD review: “…a brilliant example of what Hitchcock could do best, continually develop his plot and characters in an atmosphere both creepy and humorous. The film has great dialogue, superb characters, good acting, and naturally superb direction from the master of suspense who is truly at his best…”
