Ono’s Malasadas

OUR STORY

While on their annual vacation to the Hawaiian Islands, Sophia Bussio and her family discovered Malasadas, a Portuguese fried sweet dough, a food staple in Hawaii. Sophia and her family saw the opportunity to bring the malasada magic to Provo. Excited to embrace the opportunity, the Bussios dove headfirst into the world of fried dough, later naming their new company “Ono’s Malasadas.”

OUR NAME

The name, a fusion of Hawaiian and Portuguese, encapsulates what a malasada truly is. “Ono” in Hawaiian means “delicious,” while in Portuguese, “Malasadas” translates to “bad dough” — a contradiction that perfectly describes the treat.

🎶 Outdoor Concert: Stranded At Home & Flashback Brothers 

The Orchard (University Place) from 6pm to 8pm

A little about the bands:
Stranded At Home - A local rock band “somewhere in the niche of punk rock and modern rock”
The Flashback Brothers - All hits, all the time. (50s to 80s hits) The Flashback Brothers started in 2005, is based in Provo, and has been playing up and down the wasatch front for years.

⛏🧱 Minecraft Club

Ok, Pigmen. Minecraft club is in room 260 of the Provo City Library from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

🎲 Board Game Night

Get out your bored at the Provo City Library from 5pm to 8pm. Meet in the Nelson Attic and try a number of new games from the collection of the Board Game Butler!

🎸🍔🏞️ Bluebird Cafe Concert Series

The Bluebird Cafe has brought in some musicians all the way from Nashville, y’all.

Tonight, Josh Osborne, Chase McGill and Emily Weisband will be performing starting at 8pm.

🧙 A School Day of Witchcraft and Wizardry Saturday, Aug 17th

If you or your kid is a witch/wizard, and you haven’t been sorted yet then please come to the Provo City Library on Saturday, Aug 17th. Get sorted into houses, earn house points, and attend magical classes. Come from 11am to 1pm or from 2pm to 4pm (go to the Library Ballroom).

🌱 If you use IFA’s 4 Step Lawn Care Program, it’s getting close to the time when you should spread STEP 4. So if you haven’t spread STEP 3 yet, might want to do that this weekend.

🪑⚽ The kids’ games are starting, time to start looking for some new game chairs.

⛷️ Ski Ticket Price Increase

When the snow comes down the prices go up. Actually they will go up before the snow comes down.
The Epic Pass price goes up on September 2nd. (The Epic Pass can be used at Park City.)
Beaver Mountain passes are available now, but their ticket prices will increase after Aug 31st.
