Ono’s Malasadas

OUR STORY

While on their annual vacation to the Hawaiian Islands, Sophia Bussio and her family discovered Malasadas, a Portuguese fried sweet dough, a food staple in Hawaii. Sophia and her family saw the opportunity to bring the malasada magic to Provo. Excited to embrace the opportunity, the Bussios dove headfirst into the world of fried dough, later naming their new company “Ono’s Malasadas.”

OUR NAME

The name, a fusion of Hawaiian and Portuguese, encapsulates what a malasada truly is. “Ono” in Hawaiian means “delicious,” while in Portuguese, “Malasadas” translates to “bad dough” — a contradiction that perfectly describes the treat.

❣️Thursday’s Things We Love❣️

Here’s a park we’ve been loving for a long time, Sunset Beach Park in Vineyard. The soft sand is so fun for kids and in the summer it’s got a water pump+trough system that never gets old (even for the bigger kids).

It’s got big mature trees that give plenty of shade, (which we all know is a must), and it connects with a trail that goes along Utah Lake.. Definitely a favorite, so give it a try!

📷️ National School Picture Day continued…

"So I didn't want Mason's name printed on the photo and there was a blank space to fill in for his name. The program wouldn't let me continue to the next page without filling it in so I wrote, 'I don't want this' thinking they just wouldn't include it. They ended up printing it on the front instead."

Words To Remember

“It's better to put yourself out there and get hurt than to never take the chance at all.”
