The Oldest Yarn Shop in the USA 🧶

Heindselman's Knit & Gift — established in 1904 — holds the incredible title of being the oldest yarn shop in the United States! The original owner, Dr. Doc Heindselman, was on his way to Oregon when he passed through Utah. He loved it here, so he changed his plans, settled down, and opened up shop!

Heindselman's Yarn has everything you need for knitting, crochet, spinning, weaving, and tatting. They have classes as well. Tomorrow, from 10am to noon, they will have a sock knitting class: knit two socks “at the same time toe up on one needle using magic loop”. 🧦

SkiJoring 🐎⛷️ 

All we want for Valentine’s is more skijoring pictures.

Or something way better than pictures — seeing the real thing! Here’s what’s happening: Today and tomorrow, people on horses are going to be pulling around people on skis/snowboards in a high speed competition called Ski Joring!

You can check out the teams here. (Teams like Bob Barley and the Wailer, Powder Posse, and Snow Big Deal.)

The tickets start at $25, but they recommend you get the 2-day pass so you can be there tomorrow to see the championships.

Local Business Spotlight
Indian + Chinese 🍛 

We all know Bombay House. Love Bombay House. But Bombay House will be packed tonight, so we want to highlight another Indian restaurant that’s been a favorite of ours for a while — Tandoor Indian Cuisine. 🍛 

Not only will it be a little easier to get a table, but Tandoor Indian Cuisine also offers some great Indo Chinese dishes you won’t find at most local Indian restaurants. (If you don’t know Indo Chinese, it’s basically Chinese food but done India-style. At least that’s our understanding.)

All four of Tandoor’s Indo Chinese dishes are great: Gobi Manchuria, Chicken Manchuria, Chili Paneer, Chili Chicken 🌶️🍗 

Of course, their more popular Indian dishes, like Butter Chicken (Chicken Makhani) and tikka masala, are amazing as well. So, if you can't snag a reservation at Bombay House or just want to switch up your Indian food game, this place is calling your name! (Also, if you go tonight you can get henna tattoos and order off their special Valentine’s menu.)
