What’s Up Provo!
Happy President’s Day! 🇺🇸
The holiday was originally called Washington’s birthday. At the time of George Washington’s birth, February 11, 1731, people were using the Julian calendar. But when England (and the US colonies) adopted the Gregorian calendar in 1752, it moved Washington's birthday by more than a year to February 22, 1732.
Neither of Washington’s birthdays are Feb 17th, but whatever.

(Also, her next one-day essentials class is on May 10th. Registration for that just opened up, as well.)

Barefoot in the Park 🦶

The first full week of performances starts today! Barefoot in the Park is about newlyweds, Corie and Paul, who are total opposites — she's a free spirit who wants to dance through life and he’s a buttoned-up lawyer who'd rather keep his shoes on. Add a quirky neighbor, a meddling mother-in-law, and a whole lot of chaos, and you get a great and entertaining play!

Bobsledding at Utah Olympic Park 🛷

This is one we’ve wanted to highlight for a while. “Experience a thrill of a lifetime” by bobsledding at dangerous speeds on Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games Sliding Track!
As you probably guessed, this one is intense and can be dangerous. According the Utah Olympic Park website, bobsledding generates 4-5 times the force of gravity. So all riders have to be older than 13 (check), at least 100 pounds (double check), and you can’t wear high heels (never crossed my mind).
This event runs all year and times do fill up (at least one time slot for Wednesday, Feb 19th is filled up already).
