What’s Up Provo! Happy Global Running Day! 🏃

Global Running Day got a big boost during the pandemic with the “Tag 1 Challenge”.

If you don’t remember, people would run a mile, or do some kind of exercise, and then “tag” a friend (over the internet) to do the same thing — and it went viral.

I guess this is our chance to start the game up again. So… consider yourself tagged!

  • 🎶 Orchard’s Jam, Summer Kickoff, Trivia Nights

  • 🎡 Carnival, petting zoo, OremFest Fit

  • 🎣 Utah Lake/Provo River/Khyv Peak Beautification projects

In Partnership with
Flickinger • Boulton • Robson • Weeks

If you haven’t worked with an attorney before then let’s pull back the curtain a little bit...

At Flickinger • Boulton • Robson • Weeks, the first thing they do is take the time and make sure your case is has merit and that all ethical and professional standards will be upheld.

If it all checks out then they can get to work!

It's as simple as that. The attorneys at Flickinger • Boulton • Robson • Weeks make sure you receive the rightful compensation and support for your injury or accident. (Which won’t usually happen if you leave it up to the insurance company.)

One other thing, there’s no upfront cost. In fact, they operate on a “no win, no fee” basis, so it’s a percentage of your settlement and that’s it.

🎨 New BYU Arts Building to Open Fall 2026
The Franklin S. Harris Fine Arts Center (HFAC) was demolished a few years back, and now it’s replacement is almost complete!

BYU announced it will be mostly done in time for the students coming back in the fall, and completely finished in November this year. The building is being called the Arts Building for now, but as BYU alumni know, most buildings are commonly known by their acronym. So will it be called “the A.B.”? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Wellness Wednesday 🎸

So many great volunteer opportunities, and these ones will get you outside, you’ll meet new people, and improve this great place we all call home. (And you might also get free tickets to Fork Fest…)

🌱 Planting Party
Apparently we got those dang phragmites, mostly, and it’s time to replace them with better, native plants. Here are the details:
“The Utah Lake Phragmites Control Project has successfully reduced invasive Phragmites australis by about 70% since the early 2000s. With the shoreline cleared, restoration efforts now focus on planting native vegetation to improve habitat, water quality, and ecosystem resilience… Volunteers will help plant species like bulrush, milkweed, and goldenrod, contributing to long-term ecological health.”
Jun 5th from 9am-11:30am

🌊 Provo River Delta
Phragmites might be under control, or getting, but there are still other plants invading the Provo River Delta. Here is one way to get involved:
“Volunteers will help maintain a healthy habitat for the June Sucker and other wildlife by removing invasive plants including Russian olive tree saplings and thistles.”
June 7th from 7am to 1pm

🎸 Fork Fest Volunteers
“We need volunteer help to ensure every aspect of the event runs smoothly…. including load-out, set-up, clean-up, box office, site services, guest services, and more.”
“Please note that volunteers signing up for the clean-up shift will receive free admission to both this year’s and next year’s festival

The ones that didn’t fit in the email:

🗑 Utah Lake Ocean Day Cleanup
One more Utah Lake related one:
“Make a real difference locally and globally by joining us for the Utah Lake Ocean Day Cleanup… This event is more than just a cleanup. For every pound of trash volunteers collect, Tidey Ocean sponsors will fund the removal of one pound of ocean-bound trash with their pound-for-pound matching!”
June 7th from 9am to 11:30am

🏔 Khyv Peak Overlook Beautification
“Volunteers will meet Forest Service personnel at Khyv Peak Overlook Parking lot Saturday, June 7th, at 10 a.m. to review safety protocols and receive project instructions. Volunteers will be provided with tools, trash bags and gloves. They will perform trail maintenance on surrounding trails, clean up litter, trash, and other debris from around the overlook and the surrounding area. Duration of the project is 10a.m.-1p.m.”

🎡 OremFest Volunteers
Lots of ways to serve at OremFest. They need crafts assistants, booth attendants, people to help out at the Orchard Jam, the Sportsfest, the parade, the baby contest…
Various times between now and Saturday

🚰 Utah Valley Marathon Aid Station
“Setting up aid station and handing food/water to marathon runners. Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks, and water provided!”
Jun 7th from 6:15am - 12:30pm, the station looks like its close to the lacrosse/flag football fields along University.
