Don’t miss out on stuff ⚠️

If you don’t want to miss any of these emails (especially the ones Google classifies as “Promotion” just because we mention “free food”) then we have some advice.

(By the way, not everyone’s Gmail is set up the same, so not all of us have a Promotions tab. If you’re unfamiliar, here’s a screenshot of the Primary and Promotions tabs in Gmail. If your Gmail isn’t set up like this we think you can just ignore all this.)

Sometimes Gmail classifies our emails as “Promotions”, and, as we all know, that’s where emails get buried and lost.

If you don’t want Gmail to hide our emails whenever we mention the word “free” then follow these steps:

  • If you are on your phone hit the 3 dots at top right corner, click "Move to" then "Primary."

  • If you are on a computer then back out of this email then drag and drop this email into the "Primary" tab near the top left of your screen

Cowboys and Indies 2024 🎸🪕

Here’s an explanation of the event directly from the Velour site: “This show concept was created in 2006 by Velour owner Corey Fox, and Tyler Glenn of Neon Trees. At the time there were two prominent genres in the scene (Roots-Rock/Americana and Indie/Synth-Rock) and although many of the band members were friends, they didn't ever really play shows together because of the differences in musical styles. This show was created to mix genres and crowds and help build camaraderie and fanbases in the scene. 19 years later that goal is still the same!”

Love it.

Wellness Wednesday 💝

Winter Ball For The Elderly 👴💃

The Provo Rehabilitation & Nursing, which serves the elderly, disabled, and those with special needs, will be putting on a Winter Ball for their residents—and they would love some help!

Credit: New York Times

“We are requesting enough steaks and rolls to serve 60 people for our upcoming Winter Ball on November 20th, 2024. The goal of this event is to provide a nostalgic, prom-like atmosphere that is meaningful to our residents. Many of them have been asking for a steak dinner for months, and few can recall the last time they enjoyed a professional or grilled steak. Most of our residents no longer have families who can take them out for a special meal, and we want to offer them this experience.” More info
