What’s Up Provo! It’s election week! 🗳

We found this photo and thought we should include it. It’s a photo of a Utahn, and the first woman to vote for her son in a presidential election:

Sophia Christensen voted for her son, Parley P. Christensen (the first presidential candidate from Utah) in the election of 1920.
According to the article, “When asked if she thought Parley would be elected, Mrs. Christensen, who is blind, said, laughing, ‘Please fan me,’ ”.

🏫 Dixon being torn down - A call for public input
There are safety concerns with the current Dixon building, so it is being torn down. Considering that face, the district is now considering a few different options about where to rebuild it, and they'd like your input! For example, one option is to rebuild Timpanogos Elementary at the current Dixon site and then repurpose the old Timpanogos site for CTE programs. Check out the full list of options here, and see how you can get involved.

Provo City Public Hearing
“Provo City Municipal Council will consider an appropriation of $220,000 in the Legacy CIP fund to help pay for Fire Station I construction costs. The funding source of the appropriation is a $220,000 transfer of public safety impact fees from the General CIP fund to the Legacy CIP fund.” More info (see top link)
