What’s Up Provo! Happy Tax Day and National Laundry Day! If you don’t like the sound of those holidays then you’re in luck because it’s National Griper’s Day too.
Even though taxes might be due, and laundry never ends, there is also a lot of fun and interesting stuff to do around Provo/Orem during this great and beautiful time of the year. And it’s already the last day of class for BYU students! So let’s get into it!

Feeling stuck in your workouts?
You’re showing up. Working hard. Getting sweaty. Feeling the burn.
But somehow… your workouts still aren’t working.
The truth is results don’t come from just “feeling it.”
They come from giving your muscles the right stimulus to actually adapt and grow.
Soreness, sweat, and calorie burn don’t guarantee progress.
A workout that actually works looks like this:
👉 Uses compound lifts that train multiple muscle groups
👉 Follows a structured plan with progressive overload
👉 Prioritizes recovery so you can train close to failure
👉 Keeps your training balanced to avoid burnout
Ready to feel the difference?
When you sign up, you’ll unlock months of workouts and videos explaining training principles that work—all included in your free trial. Go explore them and start training with purpose.

WHAT’S UP
🏫 Saving Cherry Creek Elementary
A group of students at Cherry Creek Elementary (in Springville) have launched a petition to keep their school open. They are rallying classmates, parents, and the community while the district weighs declining enrollment and boundary changes and, obviously, whether or not they should close Cherry Creek. According to Nebo School District, the consideration is "driven by long-term declining enrollment patterns and a strategic effort to better utilize district resources and facilities."
☀ Super El Niño
We will probably get another overnight freeze this week (sorry apricot trees), but when looking farther out the experts are predicting a super El Niño. That may or may not happen, of course, but if it does happen, this is what it could mean:
Spring–Summer: Warmer-than-normal temperatures and drier conditions are likely across the northern U.S., which can include Utah. Not good. There are some early wildfire risks and water supply is expected to be low.
Late Summer–Fall: As El Niño strengthens it would mean that some nearby regions (like Arizona) would be expected to get more rain, maybe southern Utah as well, but it’s less certain this far north.
Winter 2026–27: Historically, a super El Niño brings more active storm patterns to parts of the West—but Utah often lands in the “coin flip” zone, meaning it could go wetter or stay average.

🐴 Utah Barrel Race Championships
Viggo Mortensen once said: “One of the best pieces of advice I ever got was from a horse master. He told me to go slow to go fast. I think that applies to everything in life. We live as though there aren't enough hours in the day but if we do each thing calmly and carefully we will get it done quicker and with much less stress.”
Anyway, these horses won’t be going slow! It’s three days of competitive barrel racing and “futurity” action!

According to linguist François Grosjean, children can either become bilingual by acquiring languages simultaneously or successively.
