What’s Up Provo! Happy Women’s Conference Week and Happy Denim Day!👖
Few quick local tips before we get started, first, we’re being told that before you start planting those tomatoes (or petunias or whatever) you need to watch the overnight lows, specifically for 40° to 50°, that should be your greenlight. (So this week?)
Also, May is when the bike trails start to get more busy, but they aren’t too busy yet, and neither are the bike shops. Get ahead of the rush and get tuned up now. (If you ride Giant then Taylor’s is your place.)
Let’s get into it!

In Partnership with
Tin Can

This was one of the more popular things we’ve talked about recently, and so it’s no surprise that they seem to be currently out of phones. ☹
The first five batches of this popular new phone for kids has sold out but they are going to be selling a new batch in a few months. Preorder now and get your kids a phone that doesn’t give them access to the whole internet.
The Tin Can allows kids to chat (meaning actually call) and reach their friends, or grandma/grandpa, or mom and dad when they’re on a date, etc. And there are no apps, no screen, no dumb games, and 100% scroll-free.
It also allows you as the parent, control over who can call you, and you can even set up a “quiet hours” schedule as well.
👉 Learn more! Because the Tin Can might be just what your family needs right now.
They offer two plans:
1⃣ Can 2 Can Plan (Call other tin can’s for free!)
2⃣ Call Friends and Family for $9.99/month. First month free

WHAT’S UP
🌮 Taco Culture opens in American Fork
A familiar face in Utah’s food scene, Alonso Castañeda (former Savory Fund executive), just launched Taco Culture in American Fork. The aim is to serve some traditional tacos “made the right way.” They designed the experience at Taco Culture to capture the experience of walking into a taqueria in Mexico. 456 East State Street in American Fork
🏐🏈 BYU Sports Catch-Up
Here’s a quick update in BYU sports: men’s volleyball beat Stanford in the MPSF opener, then got bounced by No. 1 UCLA, so yes—their season is over at 21–12. Football had two NFL Draft picks: LB Jack Kelly to the Giants and TE Carsen Ryan to the Browns. Men’s hoops still needs a real starting center but at least TCU transfer Adam Stewart does add some size.
