🔥 Buckley Draw Fire
The fire that erupted on Sunday was in the Buckley Draw Canyon, (we thought it was Slate Canyon but apparently Buckley Draw is the canyon just south of Slate Canyon). It quickly burned over 400 acres of dry grass and brush and helicopters, air tankers, as well as ground fire crews were all involved.
Also, in other fire news, the Beulah Fire in the high Uinta’s is about 40% contained last we checked.

🥗 Vessel Kitchen Grand Opening this week
Utah-born Vessel Kitchen is opening its newest spot on Friday at 115 W Center St., Orem. This will be the ninth opening in nine years for them, and this one is extra special because co-founder Roe’e Levy studied culinary arts at UVU!
We’ll try to include more details about the grand opening events later this week. If you don’t know Vessel Kitchen, they are known for their salads and bowls and naan tacos, and some of the favorite dishes according to the reviews are the Mr. Miso salad, the Mediterranean Bowl, and the Baby Jean salad.

🎙 Outlaws & Outtakes: New Sundance Podcast
Sundance Mountain Resort just dropped Outlaws & Outtakes, a new podcast hosted by resort president Chad Linebaugh that digs into five decades of untold stories — from over‑capacity concerts to behind‑the‑scenes ski trail creations. The first episode, released August 8, features Brent and Fae Beck, who managed the resort during its transformative 1970s era. New episodes each Friday.

BYU Sports
If you haven’t heard about the soccer team’s improbable 3-1 victory over a ranked Minnesota team, you should read about it. It was an away game, they were losing, and they were forced to play down a player for the last hour of the game, and yet they still won by two goals!
Also, future BYU golfer, Kihei Akina became the youngest player ever to win the Utah Open over the weekend. 🏌
