In Partnership with RURAL
Solar Tax Credit Deadline

You must have your solar system fully installed by December 31, 2025 to claim the 30% federal tax credit!

The Senate has voted: There was a question about if this would actually happen, but there’s no question any more. The deadline is now firm.

Solar Installation backlogs are expected: As the deadline gets closer and people rush to install solar and take advantage of the savings, (the savings on average are about $9,000!), there are backlogs expected. In fact there are backlogs already… So if you’re considering solar, it’s time to get serious.

Rural is the #1 Rural Solar Energy Provider in Utah and Wyoming, and they're based in Orem!

You WON’T meet their sales reps on your door step, (thank you Rural), so if you’re interested just contact them directly! (And without having to pay the salesman you know they can offer you a better deal.)

💰 The treasure was found!
A Utah County married couple has cracked the 2025 Utah Treasure Hunt! Turns out the clues in the riddle had a lot to do with the Beatles (the Beatles original name was The Quarrymen). Also, the “Lionhearted teams” clue in the riddle refers to the ox teams that took the granite out of the quarry. These clues (among many others, watch the full breakdown here) are what helped the couple discover the $25,000 chest hidden along the Temple Quarry Trail in Sandy.

Utah Lake and Jordan River now under algal bloom advisories
Statewide Warning Advisory for Utah Lake and parts of the Jordan River, too. Cyanobacteria — commonly known as blue-green algae — has been observed across the lake and downstream waterways.

Officials advise:
🚰 no drinking the water
🏊 no swimming or wading,
🛥 no water-skiing/wakeboarding/wake surfing/etc.

Boating is allowed though. If you fish, and you’re planning on eating what you catch make sure to rinse it very well.

🏈 Jake Retzlaff’s comments on his departure from BYU
“I’ve talked to coach Kalani a lot… he’s not just a coach to me… he’s a mentor and true friend…” Talking about the players, “They’re my brothers over there till the end, and they all know that. So I’m excited to see their future and see their success.”
Jake transferred to Tulane and will be competing for the starting job there.

Have you ever seen those squirrel suit guys that jump off a cliff and then basically fly around a canyon or something?

Of course you have, and you’ve probably thought that it looked amazing — but also way too dangerous and reckless and crazy, etc., etc.

Well, what if you could do it but you were guaranteed that it would be 100% safe? See what we mean — watch normal people doing the jump 😱

We’re including this poll question again

Just to be clear, this will NOT affect What’s Up Provo. We’re always going to keep What’s Up Provo local and free.

This will be a separate newsletter and we want to see if it would be helpful.

Do you want to know about the best events happening all over Utah?

It would be a separate newsletter, sent a few times a month, we probably couldn't make it free, and we'd get SLC, Park City, Eden, and maybe St. George events. Just the best stuff.

Thanks!

Thanks for reading, hope it helped, and please forward this to someone who has skydiving on their summer bucket list. 😉
