What’s Up Provo! Happy Jane Austen’s bday and Happy Chocolate Covered Anything Day!

There are a few Jane Austen themed events we want to tell you about, but there are no Chocolate Covered events that we know about. So to help you enjoy this one on your own here are some surprisingly tasty chocolate-covered things to try:

🍫 Chocolate-covered chips (probably the most popular unique-chocolate-covered-food online, people suggest normal potato chips, or the wavy ruffles or the jalapeno kettle chips)
🍫 Chocolate-covered cheese
🍫 Chocolate-covered seaweed (common in Korea)
🍫 Chocolate-covered mint leaves
🍫 Chocolate-covered frozen rose petals 🧊🌹

WHAT’S UP

🛫 Provo Airport Plans to Triple in Size + Public Hearing
Every few weeks there seems to be more news about the Provo Airport. As always, it’s about expansion. This time community leaders are asking for residents to weigh in. Their plan is to triple the airport’s size, expanding from 4 to 10 gates, adding space for ticketing, baggage, concessions, etc.

To help kickstart the work sooner, officials are proposing a $20 million transportation sales tax bond (for funds already earmarked) and will discuss it at a public hearing today (Dec 15).

🏚Provo Eye Sore No More
The long-abandoned Park Plaza apartments at 910 N. 900 E. — once tagged an “eyesore and an attractive nuisance” — will finally be no more. Utah developer Cole West has bought the property right next to BYU and plans to demolish the old 44‑unit complex to build student housing within walking distance of campus. Officials say demolition should happen soon with city cooperation. More details on design and timing will be coming out after Cole West gets the approvals.
