What’s Up Provo! To all our Filipino friends, happy EDSA People Power Day!

Let’s get into it!

In Partnership with
Teen Mental Health Summit
In Partnership with Huntsman Mental Health Institute

On Friday, February 27, Ivy Hall Academy is hosting a free Teen Mental Health Summit in official partnership with the Huntsman Mental Health Institute at the University of Utah.

This event was organized by teens for teens (and their parents) to address what families are navigating right now: 📱 technology overload, 😰 anxiety, burnout, 💢 emotional regulation, 🛑 boundaries, ADHD support, and more.

The evening includes:

• Two expert-led sessions with live Q&A
• Direct access to local mental health and youth support organizations
• Hands-on wellness experiences you can try onsite featuring the "Quantum Wellness Experience"
• A Sound Bath room + calm reflection spaces
• Giveaways 🎁 and prizes for attendees (Free tickets to the RUTH theater company, a new pair of skis, and so much more!)

This isn’t just information. It’s tools, resources, and real conversations in one place.

All FREE to the public.

WHAT’S UP

💻 Provo Planning Commission Green-lights New Data Center
The Provo City Planning Commission has given a thumbs-up to plans for a new data center in the East Bay area (it’s going to replace some vacant buildings there currently), green-lighting rezoning and project plans with conditions such as a closed-loop cooling system and no on-site power generation at startup. City power officials are saying this shouldn’t cause local rates to spike. (someone bookmark this comment please)

The real vote by the city council is happening on March 10th.

🚧 Provo Canyon Nighttime Traffic Alert
This week, U.S.-189 in Provo Canyon will be reduced to one-way alternating traffic between the Island Beach Day Use Area and Charleston’s 3600 South from 10 p.m. – 6 a.m. This is part of the larger US-189 Improved Project, which will eventually add a second lane in both directions.

🏃‍♀ Big 12 Track & Field Championships
The races begin this Friday in Lubbock. Texas Tech are the favorites to win it for both the men and the women but BYU is looking to surprise everyone. For a little preview, (and some bold statements to get you pumped), check out the interview with BYU sprinters Paje Rasmussen and Zoey Bonds.

🏀 Congrats to Provo Boys Basketball!
Provo High took home the 4A State Championship, defeating Hurricane 62-42!
