🐳 Geyser on Center Street
It’s been a few days since the water line broke around 2:30pm on Saturday (it happened at 168 W. Center Street). According to a KSL article that quoted Jonah Rollins, an eye witness of the event, “I noticed the ground kind of bubbling up a little bit. I at first thought it was an earthquake.” “It was raining down rocks and debris and mud and it was going for an hour.”
Nearly 15 vehicles were damaged and a sinkhole opened up and Provo officials are still investigating what caused it.
🏴☠ Utah’s $25k Treasure Hunt
“Begin your search where fabled words resound
“Before the standing stairs and kings were crowned
“Trace the steps of the lionhearted teams…”
(read the whole poem by clicking the blue header link)
Lace up, cryptic thinkers: the 2025 Utah Treasure Hunt is live, with a $25,000 prize stashed somewhere in the state’s public wilderness. All you’ve got to do to find it is figure out the poem’s riddles, and pop culture nods (Princess Peach and Pink Floyd both make cameos this year).
As in years past, the clues are tricky and sometimes they are a bit of a reach but here’s the message from the creators of the hunt as to why: “Outsmarting 100k people for longer than a few hours is tough. So the clues in the poem are subjective and purposely tricky.”
Happy Hunting! We’ll periodically update you on new clues as the weeks go by, (assuming the treasure isn’t found by then).
🏘 Park Place on 9th no longer abandoned?
Finally, the Park Place on 9th East is under contract with a developer. The place has been empty for 3 years, and it looks it, but hopefully that will all change soon-ish.

🌲 Every Kid Outdoor Follow A Trail Challenge
If you have gotten these emails for a while you might already know about the EKO Outdoor challenges for kids. If you don’t know much about it, kids can earn badges throughout the year by completing certain challenges or participating in different outdoor activities.
So today, if you happen to be in Park City, they have another challenge happening. The first part of the challenge is you have to either do a hike or a trail run or mountain yoga or you have to mountain bike... The second part is “Enjoy a creamie and some water” — and you have to enjoy it! Don’t enjoy it then it don’t count.

Local Spotlight
Carry On 🛹

Carry On’s founders (Colby Bauer, Cole Parkinson, and Davey Lowery), have each experienced and seen the effects of mental illness. They also share a passion for action sports.
So they’ve combined the two to create a unique and proactive approach to mental wellness.
Learn mental skills: At Carry On, students learn mental skills like mindset, community, confidence, focus, and goal-setting in a classroom setting. Of course, it’s catered to the age of the student. Three-year-old’s learn about posture, “power words,” and safety breaths, while older students dive deeper and explore the science behind the skills.
Apply them at their skatepark: After learning the lesson, students immediately go and apply them—and this is what really sets their approach apart. When a student is at the top of the ramp and feeling stressed, the instructors coach them through it using the strategies and skills they just learned.
When mental skills are learned this way, the skills stick. Parents of Carry On students have seen their kids grow in confidence and use the skills at home, in school, and in other sports.
“The ultimate goal of our program is to equip youth with attributes of resilience needed to thrive in the midst of adversity.”
🛹 Learn more about Carry On, and watch their parent testimonial video, see their upcoming classes (including the free clinic in Provo in August), and/or donate.
