🏈 The QB Situation
With Retzlaff leaving BYU, here are the three top candidates to take his place:
Treyson Bourguet - the most experienced with two seasons at Western Michigan and 1,300+ yards arleady.
McCae Hillstead - A transfer from Utah State with slightly less experience, but more athleticism then Treyson
Bear Bachmeier - the freshman with the least experience but generally considered as the one with the most “upside”. (Click the blue header for more info— the blue headers are always links)
🌉 Provo Bridge Rebuild
Provo’s 1960s-era bridge over the Provo River Trail is finally getting an upgrade. It’s located on 820 North and 850 West, (if it helps, it’s one of them that has a narrow bike lane that goes under the bridge).
Anyway, it’s been on the state’s naughty list for bridges for some time, but now UDOT is planning on refocusing $2.9 million toward the rebuild.
📽 CozyFilmz looking for a new home
CozyFilmz offered drive-in movies and activities in the Provo Towne Centre mall’s south parking lot, and it was a big success right away — but their lease was suddenly terminated recently. (From what we understand, the mall already made promises to Cinemark that they wouldn’t rent to competing companies.) They are now looking for a place to relocate to. Learn more about CozyFilms

Wellness Wednesday Spotlight
The Sharing Place

The History: Since 1993, The Sharing Place has been providing support for grieving families and are excited to now serve Utah county families at their Pleasant Grove location.
It all began when tenacious mom Chris Chytraus — fresh from losing her children’s father — teamed up with their therapist, Nancy Reiser, to build a safe spot where kids could express their grief, and not feel alone.
How it works: Individuals and families that visit The Sharing Place are paired up with a support group which meets 2x a month for 90-minutes each time.
The kids meet together in brief joint sessions and are also be able to use the Art Room, the Volcano Room, the Soft Room, and other areas designed to help kids explore their emotions. There are teen support groups, as well as parent support groups meeting simultaneously as well.
(If you're wondering what it costs, participating families can make a confidential monthly pledge to the organization, but there is no charge for participating.)
How you can help: If you would like to volunteer, the next training is on August 23rd. (Contact Tracy at [email protected] for more information.)
You can also help by donating, hosting a workplace drive, or just by spreading the word.
“Everyone is so nice and it helped to know I wasn’t alone with my big feelings. It helped to know I could say things and not be made fun of.”
