🎨 Family Arts Festival Part II - Panorama Bonanza
BYU’s Family Art Festival (a 3 month festival made up of three “parts” that is all free and open to the public) continues! Part 2 kicks off today and it’s all about panoramas.
If you aren’t familiar, panoramas are essentially a wide, unbroken view of a scene. Sometimes they are massive pieces of art that show a 360 degree view of a location.
For this part of the festival, families with children 12 and under can craft their own "crankie" — which is a mini moving panorama kind of like having your own personal 19th century movie theater. (It’s all the rave these days). This is a drop-in activity/festival, so no stress about reservations. You can come any time and participate (as long as supplies last).
BYU Museum of Art | July 7-26 | Drop-in activity

A Shakespeare double-header. The evening starts with one of Shakespeare's shortest and funniest plays "The Comedy of Errors", and it ends with his most well known "Romeo & Juliet." Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, and if you need some midsummer night’s food they'll have shaved ice for sale.

🦕 Dinos After Dark
Considering this is from 6pm to 8pm, you could call it “Dinos While It Is Starting To Get Dark” but we get why they didn’t want to call it that. It’s going to be dark somewhere. Anyway, every Monday in July at Thanksgiving Point, you’ll get the chance to wander the lantern-lit halls of the museum, do scavenger hunts, join some dig pit challenges, get some prizes, and more!

If you don’t know Mosida:
They farm their own cows on the other side of Utah Lake. The cows are processed locally as well—so the burgers and cuts of beef from Mosida are 100% local, American Wagyu!
🍔 The burgers are great, classic and high quality, and the Beef-n-All sandwich is also amazing. We suggest getting both. (Also, really great fries) Check out their farmhouse menu
📦 You can buy a box and bring home some premium, local beef
🐮 Or, you can pickup an entire beef or pork “share”
🥩 And, of course, if you’re not ready to commit to buying a whole cow, they sell premium individual cuts (min of 10lbs per purchase).
And they deliver!
Best Chocolate Cake?

Some other weird tradition - 15%

Thanks!
Thanks for reading and please refer this to all your friends who might enjoy a chocolate covered porkroll. 😉

"If he does that, he will be the greatest man in the world."
A little context about the quote: At the end of the Revolutionary War, many expected Washington to assume a position of power, possibly even becoming king.
So when King George III asked his American painter, Benjamin West, what Washington would do after winning independence. West replied, “They say he will return to his farm.”
“If he does that,” the incredulous monarch said, “he will be the greatest man in the world.”
