🏃 One more national record for Timpview’s Jane Hedengren
From what we can tell Jane already holds the national record for high school girls in the indoor mile and 5000m, the outdoor 1600m, mile, 2-mile, 3200m (and en-route split), 3000m, and 5000m. Pretty good. To end her high school career she broke one more record, her own 3000m record which she set earlier this year. Read More

🏈 BYU adds Ryder Lyons, the biggest football recruit in decades
They all thought Ryder Lyons was going to USC and then they all thought he’d go to Oregon… But in the end, the highly touted California quarterback chose BYU! This is the Cougar’s first 5-star recruit since 2003 when they got Ofa Mohetau. (But let’s not talk about how that went.) Check out all the social media reactions KSL pulled together.

🎟 🤑 Ticket Tuesday Yesterday + Current Deals and Discounts in Provo/Orem
Yesterday we send out the first Ticket Tuesday edition in a while. It had all the info about upcoming ticketed/registration-only events coming up in the next 6+ weeks.

If you haven’t seen it, go and find it (search: Demolition Derby, Cowboy Poetry, Toffee, Truffle, Carmel, Nougat). You might want to star it or something to make it easy to refer back to, because a lot of those events won’t be mentioned again for a while.

Also, there’s a new page on our website where we put all the current deals & discounts in Provo/Orem. We’ve decided to call it “All the Current Deals & Discounts in Provo/Orem.”

We’ll update it a few times a week and it should have lots of great info that won’t make it in these emails. Pin or bookmark it so you can get to it easily.

Local Business Spotlight:
Throw Art Studio 🧑‍🎨

“All good things start in garages.”

You might know Throw Art Studio already, (or maybe you’ve seen it while driving on 300 S in Provo). We talked to the owner, JohnPaul, to learn more.

How it got started: After falling in love with pottery in high school and becoming a pottery instructor, JohnPaul decided to start his own pottery business. He started teaching pottery classes out of his parents’ garage in Ogden while also taking college classes. Soon his pottery classes grew in popularity and JohnPaul knew it was the beginning of something.

When he moved to Provo to finish his marketing degree at BYU, he brought his passion with him and opened Throw Art Studio in September 2023. The goal was to build a place and a community that would “love people through art.”

What they do: Throw Art Studio specializes in welcoming beginners via their intro classes, (JohnPaul says their focus on helping beginners is what really sets them apart). They also offer fun date nights and memberships for those who are ready to dive deeper.

Whether you’re looking for a fun night, just curious about pottery, or eager to master the craft, Throw Art is the place! ⚱️
