WHAT’S UP

🥫 Utah Food Banks Running Low
Utah food banks are sounding the alarm after supplies dropped to “dangerously low” levels while demand keeps climbing. Local groups—including Community Action Services and Food Bank—say fewer donations and rising grocery costs are leaving shelves bare so they’re asking for help so they can restock with nonperishables.

🏈 Cougars in the NFL
A couple of former BYU players are headed to new NFL homes. Defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga is going to Kansas City to be with Andy Reid and running back Tyler Allgeier is reportedly trading his Atlanta red for Arizona red.

🏠 Provo among top 5 most expensive places to buy a home
Beautiful mountain views, but also a mountain-sized price tag.
A new Local Buyer Affordability Index from PropFusion ranks Provo among the top 5 most expensive places in the country to buy a home relative to local incomes. (Along with Hawaii and L.A.) Does the fact that Provo has so many college students affect this do all the students affect this? Probably.

🏀 AJ Dybansta named Big 12 freshman of the year
Many of the best freshman in the country (who also were the best players in the country) were in the Big 12 this year—so this award wasn’t a given! But then again, AJ was the leading scorer in the country, scoring double digits in all 32 games. Pretty amazing.

Who was the last BYU player to win a freshman of the year award?

WHAT ELSE

Local Spotlight
HOTWORX - Spanish Fork🔥

How It Started: Rachel Whitlock is the owner of HOTWORX in Spanish Fork. Rachel loved yoga and cardio, but struggled with normal gyms which made her feel self-conscious. But after her sisters-in-law dragged her to HOTWORX, she instantly fell in love! In fact, after the Spanish Fork studio came up for sale she decided to buy it!

What Makes HOTWORX Different: They combine guided workouts with infrared sauna heat. The infrared helps with recovery, and metabolism (and makes you sweat like crazy), and the guided workouts (w/ a virtual instructor) help you know what to do!

What to Expect: Their sauna fits up to three people, so you can bring friends along, and you can choose between:
🚴‍♀ 15-minute HIIT sessions with cycling, ellipticals, or rowing
🧘 30-minute isometric workouts like yoga, pilates, barre, and stretch

Members get 24/7 access with unlimited workouts for $79/month.

🎉 4 Year Celebration!
This is a spotlight, but it’s also another event we wanted to tell you guys about. HOTWORX Spanish Fork is celebrating its 4-year anniversary this Saturday with refreshments, vendors, and giveaways. You can also try out one of their infrared workouts for free!
