What’s Up Provo! And happy Alascattalo Day!
Alascattalo - A cross between a moose and a walrus. It doesn’t exist, it’s basically the Alaskan version of a jackelope, but it gets a holiday anyway. And it’s own asteroid.
Lots of markets this weekend ahead of the Black Friday sales next week. We won’t get too much into the info about Black Friday sales by the way. We’re worried about getting sent to spam. But if we find out about some unique ones we’ll let you know.
Let’s get into it!

In Partnership with Ray Keller
Getting the right plan

Ray will walk you through every step of the process — patiently, clearly, and without pressure. Read his reviews and you’ll see that his clients love how he helps everything make sense, how he answers every question, and most importantly, that he figures out the plan that is just right for them.
And on top of that, he doesn’t just quote the big-name plans. (Some insurance companies pour money into ads, but it doesn’t mean they are any better. Others quietly offer the same coverage, or better coverage, for less.)
You want someone who knows these kind of insurance tricks and tips inside and out.
Whether you’re renewing or buying your first plan, Ray’s your man!

WHAT’S UP

🏭 Provo snack factory
Built Brands, maker of the BUILT Bar, is opening a new 132,000 sq ft manufacturing and distribution facility in Provo this week! This is expected to bring about 500 new jobs. (We tried to look up where this would be built but we couldn’t find an address.)
Speaking of jobs, if you’re looking for a job, the Provo School District recently posted a number of openings. Check them out
🥒 Pickle Petition
Utah State University is reportedly launching a petition to help BYU compete in collegiate pickleball. According to BYU pickleballer, Natalie Hansen, BYU had to pull out of a number tournaments because the tournament had games on Sunday. Fortunately for BYU, USU wants to help so they’ve passed around a petition to change the scheduling of collegiate pickleball!
🌫️ Provo up to EPA standards
Since 2009, the EPA has considered Provo (and SLC too) “nonattainment,” which means our air quality was not good enough. But now, after 15 years, it’s good enough. Way to be non-nonattainment Provo!

WHAT ELSE
Local Spotlight
Bella’s Market 🛒

We talked about the Bella’s Market grand opening just last week. Here’s a little more about it:
Why it’s different: Bella’s Market is set up to be a big part of what will become (or is already being called?) Utah City—more on that later.
It has all kinds of unique offerings including a scratch bakery (serving warm doughnuts daily), and an authentic tortilla press, an old-style butcher block that will sell premium cuts from Snake River Farms, and flowers that come from a local boutique florist, The Floral Bar Co.
One of the first in Utah City: Bella’s Market is one of the first major amenities in Utah City, (the walkable, pre-planned, mixed-use lakeside community coming to Vineyard—their website explains more about it, and it is very well done if you haven’t checked it out already).
Hey! If you have a fun, unique, local business let us know—we’ll spotlight you!

Thanks for reading!
Thanks for reading. Please forward this to a friend if you want BYU to win all their games this weekend. 😉
