Choosing an insurance company: Insights from an insider

How do you choose an insurance company?

Here’s what most people do → They might look around for a little bit, but eventually they just choose a name they’ve heard of and hope for the best.

But Ray Keller knows better. He knows all the companies, he’s read all the fine print, and — most importantly — he knows which plans deliver real value without the bloated price tag.

Because here’s the secret: while some insurance companies pour money into ads, others quietly offer better coverage for less.

That’s the kind of insider information you need. Reach out to Ray for your life insurance needs and secure your financial future without sacrificing your financial present. Smart, strategic, and genuinely helpful. That’s Ray.

WHAT’S UP

What BYU found in their time capsule
BYU opened up a time capsule from 1976, part of BYU’s 150th birthday bash. What did they find? A $5 bill (worth way more back then), a gavel from then-president Dallin H. Oaks, cinnamon bears, a football jersey from Gifford Nielsen, and a recording from Harvey Fletcher, the “Father of Stereophonic Sound.”

October Rain
So much rain this month, in fact, Salt Lake City alone has already recorded 4.16 inches of rain—enough to break the previous October record of 3.98” (set in 1981), and that’s with more than half the month still to go. Meteorologists are saying this is the wettest October for northern Utah since records began in 1874. (Normally we get 1.3 inches of rain in October.)

WHAT ELSE

Local Spotlight
MOZZ 🍕

MOZZ opened its doors in Provo back in 2019, the creation of Erin and Jared, who met in 2015 and decided to build something of their own.

You already know MOZZ is all about handcrafted, wood-fired pizza (if you didn’t, now you do). Their sourdough crusts are slow-fermented over several days (and did you know you can buy their dough and a DIY pizza kit?). The menu has all the classics, plus great twists like the honey Serrano — you gotta try it.

But here’s what you might not know — MOZZ has one of the best kid promos around!

📚 The MOZZ Kid Book Club

For kids ages 6–18, this program is a total win.

Here’s how it works:

  • Kids read six age-appropriate books in a month.

  • They earn a free full-size cheese or pepperoni pizza. (Not a dinky kids pizza...a REAL full sized pizza)

  • A parent or teacher signs off using the online redemption form.

  • Kids can earn up to six pizzas total (36 books = 6 months of reading fun).

  • On the sixth redemption, they even score a bonus cookie! 🍪

As MOZZ puts it: “We’re all about feeding minds and appetites.”
