What’s Up Provo! It’s World Tripe Day, which might not excite you much, but hopefully some of the awesome things happening around the city will.

Don’t do your own lights this year

Enjoy the season. Without the hassle.
Here’s how it works:
💡 We bring the lights and the timer
🏠 Then we install your lights and make your house look amazing
🧊 And we take them down in January for FREE
And we try to be as upfront as we can about cost. Holiday light installation services start at $450, with most homes costing about $700–$1,500. (It depends on how many sides of your house you want to light, how tall your house is, how many peaks, etc.)
Avoid the icy ladders and tangled lights this year! Check out Valley Lights and email [email protected]

Reach 10,000 11,000+ locals, month after month, guaranteed.

🏔Protecting South Fork
“The City of Provo is looking to protect nearly 100 acres of land in Bunnell's Fork in the South Fork Canyon from development.” — KJZZ
The plan is to enter into a conservation easement so no future mayor or future city council can decide to sell it.
🤑 No fee for BYU = no lunch debt for Utah’s kids
Crumbl CEO, Jason McGowan, offered to pay the fees that BYU was expected to get when the fans rushed the field on Saturday. Most people were expecting a fine of $50,000, but turns out, the Big 12 decided not to fine BYU after all! (thanks Brett) But Jason was ready to pay something, so he gave $50,000 to BYU’s NIL program, and on top of that all he paid all the student lunch debt for students in the Provo City, and Salt Lake City school districts, too! Pretty awesome.

Local Spotlight
Roadrunner Junior Club 🏃

How It Started: In the fall of 2019, John Hedengren—former USATF youth national champion and NCAA All-American—founded the Roadrunner Junior Club in Provo. John’s vision was simple: combine fun, friendship, and hard work to help young runners reach their potential. Playful yet purposeful practices built a family-like culture that inspired growth.
How It’s Grown: Over the past six years, what began as just a handful of kids running laps in a local park has now grown to a club of several hundred runners. But it’s not only grown in size, it’s grown in reputation. Roadrunners is now known nationally. They’ve sent dozens of athletes to major meets and have runners winning titles and even setting national records!

But despite all the growth and success: Roadrunners makes sure everyone is welcome no matter their pace or experience. It’s open to all runners from 1st through 8th grade. They work hard to make sure it’s a positive, inclusive atmosphere where every athlete feels part of the team, whether they podium or not (and even if they don’t go to the races). The focus is on teaching kids growth, grit, and how to enjoy running. At Roadrunners, every personal best is celebrated, every race is a learning experience, and every child is cheered on.
