What’s Up Provo! It’s a candy-filled week. There are so many ways and places a person can trick or treat these days. We’ll cover them all, (or most of them), below.

Also, happy National Chocolate Day 🍫, and congrats to BYU for being the only school ranked in the top 10 in both football and men’s basketball — let’s get into it!

WHAT’S UP

🚆 Changing Tracks at the Mountain
A tug‑of‑war is unfolding between Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) and Silicon Slopes‑area leaders over the direction of the Point of the Mountain Transit Project. A once‑promised extension of the TRAX Blue Line into the growing tech corridor around Lehi now appears sidelined in favor of a new western alignment terminating at a station in Draper. Lehi officials say the move breaks long‑standing promises and jeopardizes transit‑oriented development, while UDOT counters that current ridership and land‑use data don’t support light rail—not yet.

Lindon Temple
The public open house and dedication dates for the Lindon Utah Temple have been released. The open house will run from March 12 through April 11, 2026 (excluding Sundays) and the dedication is set for Sunday, May 3, 2026.

🔥 Vegetation Fire in Orem
A brush fire broke out this afternoon in the foothills of Orem, Utah, prompting crews to respond quickly and contain the blaze before nearby homes were endangered. While details about the cause remain under investigation, officials are relieved that no structures were lost and residents were safely evacuated.

🧊 Don’t forget about January
When you’re putting up Christmas lights in October or November, it’s easy to forget that you’ll be taking them down again soon. Except when you do, it will be in freezing January (or February) weather. 🥶
When we install your Christmas lights, we take them down, (and repair them all season), for free. Let dad/grandpa avoid icy ladders this year. Learn more about Valley Light's Christmas light service, how much it costs and how to get a free quote.

Spooky Signs…

You know what scares us? Car trouble.

But luckily cars give you warning signs. Not in words (not yet), but they try—through sounds, smells, and lights we usually ignore. Learn to catch their hints early and you’ll save yourself a lot of money (and a few Saturday headaches).

  • Dashboard lights: A flashing check-engine light means stop driving—immediately. A steady one means “schedule a visit soon.”

  • Leaks: Clear puddle = condensation. Brown or black = oil. Pink, green, or orange = coolant or transmission fluid. Don’t wait; a $5 seal now can prevent a $500 repair later.

  • Brake feel: If your pedal feels soft or you hear a high-pitched squeal, your pads are due. Catching it early can save your rotors. (This will be much more common if you live in a hilly area like the east benches.)

  • Battery corrosion: White crust on the terminals? Scrub with baking soda and water—it could save you from a winter morning no-start.

The more you learn your car’s language, the less it can surprise you. Keep these signs on your radar—and call Computune Certified Auto Repair when something doesn’t look (or sound) right.
