Ono’s Malasadas
OUR STORY
While on their annual vacation to the Hawaiian Islands, Sophia Bussio and her family discovered Malasadas, a Portuguese fried sweet dough, a food staple in Hawaii. Sophia and her family saw the opportunity to bring the malasada magic to Provo. Excited to embrace the opportunity, the Bussios dove headfirst into the world of fried dough, later naming their new company “Ono’s Malasadas.”
OUR NAME
The name, a fusion of Hawaiian and Portuguese, encapsulates what a malasada truly is. “Ono” in Hawaiian means “delicious,” while in Portuguese, “Malasadas” translates to “bad dough” — a contradiction that perfectly describes the treat.

🖌️ Visiting Artist: Laura Mason @ Sundance
Sundance Art Studio from 12:30pm to 4:30pm
Sundance Resort has both an art gallery and an art studio where they have pottery classes, paint and printmaking classes, soap classes, and they also host visiting artists. Visiting artists do live demonstrations at the studio and today, they are hosting Laura Hope Mason, a local painter. She is currently painting minimalist Utah mountain landscapes. Spring Acres Arts Park (700 South 1300 East) @ 8pm
Wildwood is a country band that has headlined across Utah, as well as opening for country stars Deana Carter and Billy Dean.
This is the second to last Summer Concert in the series so don’t miss out! Bring your own blankets or chairs 🪑 (BYOBOC).
