🐝 Local Business Spotlight: Gabees Natural
🎃 Halloween related weekend to-do’s

Items of business:

1️⃣ It’s National No Beard Day! So if you’re looking for an excuse to get rid or your beard, or someone else’s, here it is! 🧔➡️👨‍🦲

2️⃣ Also, today is National Sunday Day as well 🤔

3️⃣ Watch out for another scam that’s going around. Scammers use photos of your home from Google Maps and claim they have videos of you and other personal information that they will release if you don't pay a ransom. So be on the lookout.

4️⃣ Still some time to tell us about local businesses you would like us to spotlight. (Preferably new businesses.) Thank you everyone who has already responded!

5️⃣ We missed at least one pumpkin patch on our Ultimate Fall Fun list. Highland Gardens Fall Fest has slides, corn pits, a jumper pad, swings, and tractor ride—all for FREE! (And it’s mostly covered, so you can go when it’s raining.)

Local Business Spotlight:
Gabees Natural 🐝

Gabriela (“Gabee”) was told by her doctor that the deodorant she was buying was causing the inflammation and pain she had been experiencing.

That was seven years ago, and it was a pivotal experience. It was the beginning of her journey to make deodorant and skin care products with toxin-free ingredients. 🌼

Now her mission, as the owner of Gabees Natural, is to create high-quality, handmade, organic products that promote self-care and well-being.

“We are committed to using only the finest natural ingredients to ensure that our customers enjoy safe, sustainable, and effective products that nurture both body and mind.”

Follow Gabees Natural on Instagram if you want to learn more. (Also, check out their current promotion which ends Oct. 28th.)

Gabees Natural sells therapeutic soaps, luxury scrubs, pain relief balms, shampoo and conditioner bars, and more!

BYU vs Oklahoma State 🏈

It’s game day! Here’s what’s happening at LES.

First, about the opponent… Before the season began, Oklahoma State was predicted to be one of the contenders for the Big 12 title. (BYU was picked to be near the bottom.) They are now 3-3 (0-3 in BIG 12 play) and BYU is the one contending to play in the BIG 12 title game. “Well, well, well. How the turntables…”

However, Oklahoma State is not one to overlook. BYU has never beat them before, and the Cowboys have also done very well in the past when playing as the underdog.

In short, OK State is down but there’s a good chance they will be fighting tooth and nail to avoid their 4th consecutive loss. Should be a great game and hopefully the weather cooperates!

We’re also really hoping that BYU’s running backs outshine OK State’s, especially their star running back, Ollie Gordon II, who ran all over BYU last year during BYU’s double-overtime loss to the Cowboys in Stillwater.

The pregame activities start at 5pm on the West side of the stadium with food, vendors, and activities. The Cougar Walk is at 6:15, and the game starts at 8:15.

Was it in the 80’s last week? Fortunately, it looks like we are back in the 60’s next week.

Anyway, the big event today is the game, of course, but there’s much more to do and see!

🛼🎈 Kids Fall Jamboree (Outdoor Skating Rink)
Once again, hopefully the weather cooperates because the Classic Fun Center has put together a great event. “The ultimate autumn celebration”. There’s going to be skating, of course, but also a petting zoo, face painting, bounce houses, pumpkin painting, carnival games, raffles, a dance party, and a one-of-a-kind kid’s farmers market! (For ages 12 and under—also, this is not their Halloween party, that’s coming up later this month.)

The kickoff event for the famous Buzzard and Bees Halloween Music Festival is the Goth Prom happening tonight. Plus SCARY-OKE performed by musicians from the festival… come dressed for darkness (costumes required) [emphasis added], get your prom portraits taken, apply some temporary tattoos, and see who gets crowned Goth King & Queen this year! (best costume)”

✔️ Weekend To-Do’s

Get candy 🍬 Here’s a list of the the cheapest places to buy candy this year. (Target tops their list, but is it really cheaper than Walmart? We’ll have to double check this…) Also, could be fun to get some retro candy or some old timey candy.

Get some pumpkin carving ideas 🎃 Here are some ideas from Better Home and Garden, also some 2024 pop culture pumpkin carving ideas to help you out.

Get face paint that doesn’t cause a rash 😬 In honor of Gabees Natural and their toxin-free products, here is some info about avoiding rashes and breakouts when face painting from the Face Painting School (didn’t know they had a school…)

Thanks!

Thanks for reading! Have a great weekend! 😉
