What’s Up Provo! Happy Leif Erikson Day! ⛵️

What you should know about Leif: In the year 1000, he was leading a crew of men to Greenland, but was blown off course and instead landed in Eastern Canada. They stayed for awhile, picked some grapes🍇, and then went back to Greenland. Pretty amazing, actually.

A few highlights of today’s newsletter:

  • 🍂 Autumn Lantern Festival, plus Men’s BB Blue & White and outdoor movies

  • 💝 Wellness Wednesday: Lake edition 🛥️

  • Local Business Highlight: Stone Table Lodge 🌲

Local Business Highlight:
Stone Table Lodge 🏔️

The lodge has beautiful wood floor to ceiling interiors (all genuine) in every room.
Great for family photos. Or any photo really…

You have check out the Stone Table Lodge, your new favorite home away from home!

The Stone Table Lodge is a newly renovated cabin in Sundance, about a 3 minute drive (or 8 minutes on the walking trail) up the road from the resort.

They have 2 homes on the property, which you can rent together or separately. If rented together you can comfortably sleep up to 20 people, 10 in each house. In other words, it’s a great size for a family reunion, a ski trip with friends, a retreat, etc.

Also, the lodge has a private hot tub, and an amazing game room with a pool table, and a giant (98") TV!

From the owner: “Stay for a few weeks, or just the weekend! We're currently renting out dates for our first 2024/25 ski season. Availability can be viewed on our AirBnb or VRBO profiles. These can be easily accessed through our link tree: linktr.ee/stonetablesundance

Check out their IG: @StoneTableLodge for more pictures and information!

Autumn Lantern Festival 🍂

Boy holding a lizard, boy riding a pony, person holding an owl

The Wasatch Nature School is putting on an epic Autumn Lantern Festival near Utah Lake tomorrow (Thursday)! The festival starts at 5:30pm.

(If you are unfamiliar with the Wasatch Nature School (WNS), they have a number of preschool classes, Kindergarten classes, and Wilderness Explorer classes. Their mission is “to guide the learning of children in the outdoors through play, curiosity, and wonder!”. Website)

There will be live music, food and drinks, (watch as Pyne Farms makes fresh apple cider donuts right in front of you), as well as a number of animal shows and activities. Angela’s Reptiles will have her reptiles to pet and hold. Great Basin Wildlife is bringing their birds to show. There will be free horse rides—even the great Bean Museum will be there showcasing their live animals.

So head to Utah Lake, hold a python, ride a pony, eat an apple cider donut (might want to wash your hands first), and light the night with some lanterns! Bound to be a fun and memorable event for everyone.

🏀 BYU Men’s Basketball Blue and White Game
When Coach Pope left, he took with him BYU’s highest ever rated recruit in Collin Chandler. So, when Kevin Young came he decided to sign Egor Denim. (Egor is rated even higher than Collin, a potential NBA lottery pick next year.) Then he kept going and brought in Kanon Catchings (also projected to be playing in the NBA next year), NBA Academy Africa standout Khadim Mboup, Elijah Crawford, Brody Kozlowski, Max Triplett (we love walk-ons), Keba Keita, and Mawot Mag. Amazing! Maybe for his next act Kevin will block out the sun… Until then, we’re just excited to see how this talented team will come together. Watch their first game live and for FREE at 7pm tonight!
