Local Business Highlight:
Wasatch Nature School

You might have seen a little bit about the Wasatch Nature School in previous emails. They are a great organization, a great story, so we're proud to be able to share a little more about them today.

Wasatch Nature School began 9 years ago in Vineyard and was originally called "bug club" with just a few neighborhood kids enrolled. The goal was to give kids a chance to explore, play, and interact with nature while at school. The kids loved it, and the parents did too! It provided the kind of unrushed magical, imaginative, and explorative learning experience they wanted for their child.

So it's no surprise that the Wasatch Nature School has grown like it has... They now have two locations, two Forest Kindergarten classes (ages 5-6), four Wilderness Explorers classes (ages 6-11), ten Forest Preschool classes (ages 3-5), and two Forest Tots classes ( ages 15 months - 35 months), serving over 250 students a year!

Wasatch Nature School's Mission: "We seek to facilitate learning through well-designed play experiences all in the outdoors, in every season, for children ages 15 months - 11 years old, and inspire and empower parents to do the same"

Check out WNS, read through their FAQ, or schedule a school visit.

Kevin Bacon & Michael Bacon in Lehi 🎸🥓
(Thursday)

Kevin Bacon and his brother, Michael Bacon, an Emmy-winning composer, are going to be playing at Family Park at 6:30pm this THURSDAY!

To answer your first question, yes, Kevin Bacon is a musician. You can listen to the The Bacon Brothers most recent album here. From their website: “a mix of alt-rock, Motown-inspired soul, and folk… their influences include 1970s singer/songwriters, Philly soul, and classic rock, creating a modern musical homage to their roots.”

"We're two musicians who write songs very differently, and we've grown to really appreciate those differences," says Michael. "Whenever I go see a band play live, I'd much rather see them do a thousand things than just one thing. We take a similar approach to our albums."

To answer your second question…honestly, we still aren’t sure why. Apparently Lehi beat out the #BacontoPayson dream to get Bacon back to his Footloose stomping grounds. For this concert, it seems the goal is to “bring together the community for an unforgettable experience with live music, food vendors, and entertainment for all ages.” Good enough reason for us!

🏈 BYU Football vs Oklahoma State
BYU has been having a dream season! We’re hoping it continues of course, and this Friday Mike Gundy and the Oklahoma State Cowboys are coming into town. Mike, apparently a real cowboy, was head-butted in the eye by one of his cattle over the weekend. So he’s already reeling… Let’s hope Kalani and crew deliver the KO punch and keep their unbeaten streak alive.

“Part of being a man is learning to take responsibility for your successes and for your failures. You can't go blaming others or being jealous. Seeing somebody else's success as your failure is a cancerous way to live.”
